Did You Know That?

Tidbits to enhance any social or business interaction. Facts are powerful. Here are some that might empower you no matter where you are or who you are talking with.

1. Everything in the universe emits light. This includes everything on Earth, from coal to every blade of grass, from cement to soil, from black paint to our skin and the clothes in our closets. Everything emits light.

Did you know the famous novelist of the 1930’s-1980’s, Ayn Rand, who wrote the best sellers The

Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, both of which have been made into movies, also wrote a play entitled “Night of January 16th.” This play opened at the Ambassador Theatre on Broadway on September 16, 1935. The plot included a trial, and the jury was picked from the theatre audience. Some nights the audience voted guilty, and other nights they voted innocent.

1. Every petal of every flower on Earth has only one purpose: to attract birds and bees for pollination. Petals have nothing to do with pollination, but they do serve as the first advertisement, not unlike how every TV commercial is created to get our attention to buy their product or service. Petals can be thought of as the lingerie of flowers, to attract birds and bees for pollination, just as a woman wears lingerie to enhance her beauty and attract a desired partner. Yes, everything is connected meaningfully.
2. No stranger will ever sit down beside you without first looking at your face and in your eyes. Try it and you will see.
3. As stated in another document lipstick comes from the concubines of the Pharaoh of Egypt whose only job was to give him fellatio. To show off their status, they took red berries and painted their lips.
4. For water to rise during evaporation, the minuscule water particles must first attach themselves to a speck of dust in the air. Without dust, there would be no rain and consequently no life on Earth. If dust is this important to all life, how important are you and every other human being?
5. Wild dogs die from a broken heart when removed from the pack. The medical term for this is cardiac-myopathy, or broken heart syndrome.
6. It takes an elephant 17-20 years to mature.
7. Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards.

Hopefully, you learned something from these examples, and hopefully you were able to ENJOY the LEARNING.
