Women’s Lib Revolution

Along with Climate Change disruption comes major social change, which we are currently witnessing as we move from a male dominated society to a female dominated society. Fifty-two percent of law students are women. And what do so many lawyers do? They become politicians! With these facts we can easily foresee the future of our local, state, and federal leaders will be women. We’ve already seen it in Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of England; Nancy Pelosi, as head of the House of Representatives in the United States; Hilary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, as Secretary of State for the United States; and Michele Obama, who is waiting to be drafted for the presidency.
The women’s movement started with Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem. And with that I have a story for you about when I met Gloria. I was taking the Subway downtown when I found myself sitting next to Gloria Steinem. After a fifteen minute conversation, I asked her out on a dinner date. Her response was “Oh, I am not interested in those things anymore”. A few months later, I read in the newspaper about her recent nuptials (sometimes I really feel like I may be jinxed by the universe and I often find myself saying, God, why me? Why me!).

The evidence that Lawler uncovered for us is the truth about Climate Change, which is also the current influential agent for the women’s movement throughout the world. And the women’s movement has created universal change regarding the status of women in society.

the more she said those words to me,
she kept on talking ceaselessly,
my heart kept going boom, boom, boom.
