Talking with God

I spent ten years of my life reading over and over again a book called “A Course in Miracles” by the Foundation for Inner Peace. The first time I read it, I understood only about ten percent of it. But two things grabbed me immediately: the writing itself was as fluid as Proust and Joyce, but more than that, it claimed that the world was crazy! I completely agreed and kept reading and reading.

I woke up one morning ABSOLUTELY KNOWING that what we call our intuition is the voice of the Holy Spirit within us, and all we need do is listen and follow it religiously, and we will be just fine!

A prayer I say about ten times a day: “Come Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of thy faithful and kindle in us the fire of thy love. Send forth thy Spirit, and we shall be awakened, and you shall fill the face of the Earth. Glory be to you, Father, and to your one sonship, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, a world without end. Amen!”

Why I believe in my own eternity:

1. I always feel twenty years younger than my chronological age.
2. Everyone else I ask feels the same way.
3. I had an out-of-body experience many years ago that feels like it just happened only yesterday.

The purpose of life is to give oneself pleasure through creativity! (Why else would a loving God have included us in his Creation?)

God shows up in mysterious ways. I found myself involved in a barroom brawl in my early fifties. When they pulled us apart, I was shocked when I found myself looking at the face of Jesus on the cross. His hair tangled and sweaty, blood dripping from both sides of his face, and a look of such pain and agony on his face. I swore to myself that very moment that I would never fight anyone ever again, no matter what!

Suggestions for Talking with God

• Don’t pray to God. He knows us only as he created us to be absolutely perfect. (before we ruined it for ourselves!)
• Pray to the Holy Spirit. He knows all our good and bad!
• Before you do anything, say “Help me, Holy Spirit,” or “Keep me safe, Holy Spirit.” Say it meaningfully.
• “There are only two ways to live your life, as though everything is a miracle, or as though nothing is a miracle,” Albert Einstein.
• “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced, even if someone rises from the dead,” Luke, Chapter 16:19.
• “You can see the Kingdom of God, but first you must be born again, not of the flesh but of the Spirit,” Jesus Christ.

Why do I mention all these bullet points above? Because 90% of the time when I prayed to the holy spirit this way, I received what I asked for.

ETERNAL MELODY

There is a silence within you

a silence housing a thunderous voice

a peaceful earthquake of your awakening

the orgasm of your creation

your very own unbearable lightness of being

all this awaits you – go there!

There is a silence within you

a silence emanating from an eternal melody

calling you to come, awaiting your return.

Go there

this is what you are

this is who you are!

The alpha omega singularity of your existence

something you have always known

the familiarity of your selfhood

that life force of your DNA and Soul

that place where nothing else intrudes

your home of comfort, the oasis you never left.

Let the longing within you be done with

allow yourself the freedom to arrive

here the merry-go-round and roller coaster finally cease

the grail you’ve always searched for

that diamond ring, that lottery ticket, your very own resurrection

all awaiting your acceptance of the silence within you!

Here the space between illusion and reality is buttoned

the gap between darkness and light is sparked

the place between the inhale and exhale is filled.

Go there now.

Go to the silence within you.

Limitless wealth and unimaginable love await your acceptance.

This is the promise of your birthright.

This is the dream you fully deserve.
