You can raise your IQ by 20 points in 90 days if you follow this plan:

• Wake up an hour earlier.
• Meditate for 15 minutes. You can use the following mantra as your guide: “I choose of my own free will, in concert with any and all powers of the universe available to help me, to increase my IQ today and every day as much as possible.”
• Turn on C-Span One, Washington Journal, from 7-10am, 7 days a week. C-Span has a different topic each day regarding current events with phone lines for Republicans, Democrats and Independents. Viewers call in with their opinions. Yes, you will hear many ridiculous comments; however, do not be put off as you will soon learn lots from the intelligent individuals who also call in. Listen while you dress or record the show to view in the evening (or listen on the radio).

1. C-Span also has a History Channel with plenty to see, learn, and record.
2. Become familiar with all the C-Span channels, as they are constantly covering Congressional hearings and speeches that regular channels and even cable channels do not cover.

• Listen to CDs on intelligent topics when driving.
• Utilize your local library as your major resource.
• Join a group or start your own to share ideas.
• Take free or low-cost tuition courses in the field you would like to pursue.
• Keep a diary of your growth as you continue learning.
• Speed read biographies and autobiographies from successful people in your field of interest and meet/interview professors and managers working or retired from your chosen field.
• Read “The Art of War,” by Sun Tzu, “The Art of the Deal,” by Donald Trump, “The Man Who Discovered Quality,” by Andrea Gabor, the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, “The Federalist Papers,” and all of Alice Miller’s books.
• See films by Tarantino, Coppola, Spielberg, Chaplin, and Brooks.
• Whenever possible share your newfound knowledge with others.
• Write your own poetry, essays, and short stories. Be humbly proud of the treasure chest for your innovative approach to living fully.

SPEED READ YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS

You must learn to Speed Read. It’s easy and fun and will enable you to read an average book in an hour or two. Your confidence will grow ‘sky high.’ Here is how:

1. Read the first three paragraphs and the last paragraphs of each chapter. Read the first line (if necessary) of each paragraph.
2. Read the first and the last chapter of the book but with two caveats: the first is that you are learning from it, and the second is that you are enjoying it.

Einstein said there are only two ways to view life, as though everything is a miracle or that nothing is a miracle. Constant learning is the miracle of human existence. Always remember that the moment a flower stops growing, it begins to die, and the day we stop learning, we begin to die.

So now it’s time to dig deep. Look at the ‘energy construct’ you were born with, which is explained in my book, “Empowering Children for Success.” It is the driving magnetic force unique to each of us concerning what in life we are most attracted to and find easy and enjoyable to learn. This is the reason you might love cooking, and your sister may love engineering, medicine or anything else.

No matter what your age may be right now, it is never too late to start over again.

OPTIONAL THINKING

Decades ago, Richard Bach wrote a best seller entitled, “Jonathan Livingston Seagull.” But his second book, “Illusions” was a work of genius! It tells the story of the Messiah, who returns to earth as a crop duster pilot in the Midwest because He loved to fly. One day a guy in need asks Him for help. Being the Messiah, of course He helps the guy. Word gets around, and before you could sneeze, He did not have time to fly anymore. So, What could He do? What options did He have?

HE QUIT BEING THE MESSIAH!

We are usually taught to have one or two opinions about certain aspects of life. But not the Messiah! Neither did Deming. When no American corporation would hire him with his ‘quality theory,’ he went to Japan. They embraced him and Japan quickly became one of the economic power empires of the world.

Let Him and the fictional Messiah be your model mentors. Find your own ‘energy construct’ as they found theirs.
